Playing Dead

I'm talking about humans playing dead here not the dog!

How does your dog react if you play dead?

I thought i'd test Monty out earlier so lay on the floor with my eyes shut and lay as still as I could. At first he ignored me, then he prodded my hand with his nose a couple of times which i ignored and continued to remain still. Then he tried the old "i'll huff in your face" trick which he uses most mornings to tell me he wants to get up. I did my best to ignore that as well.

After that he wandered off and left me there for about 5 minutes. Eventually he wandered back into the room, licked my hand, huffed in my face again and then lay down next to me as if to say "well if you're have a snooze then I might as well join you"!!

So if ever no-one has seen me online for a few days please send someone round as Monty is useless!!

He knows you are alive but thinks you are sleeping so wouldn't be concerned

I would get licked around the mouth by my staffie which would definitely 'wake' me and my saluki would probably just lie down next to me waiting for her tummy to be tickled. I wouldn't be able to lay still for long anyway - would either laugh or fall asleep

Teagan would do absolutely nothing! Even if i'm asleep on the sofa she ignores me! Shes so loving haha

like haha, nothing wrong with you (nudges face with wet nose) come on up you get dafty.

When I was a kid I would pretend to be unconcious our GSD used to get very anxious. She would nudge, whine and lick until I gave up with the giggles...then she would perform zoomies round me

I've tried that, Tess jumps on you with force and the others start scratching at me, Bruce caught me in the face with his claws

Be no good me dying after these had finished scratching me Id be unrecognisable

Zane jumps on me will full force, all 60 odd kilos of him, usually at speed.

Jenzi sticks her extremely cold and wet nose in my ear and if that doesn't move me, then I'd better have my eyes shut 'cos that's where her nose goes next. If that doesn't work I get head butted in the crotch area - uncomfortable to say the least

Yiannis paws at me making noises like a cow and if I haven't acknowledged him within about 30 seconds, he sits on my chest if Zane has left him any room.

Tashi just does zoomies around the room and on and off the furniture. If I don't move quickly enough I get pounded by her zomming at 100mph.

God forbid anything happened where I'd be unconcious (sp?). Between the 4 of them I'd have been covered in slobber, be deaf in at least one ear,blind in at least one ewye, unable to walk fromteh head butt, have broken ribs and would be covered in scratches, cuts and bruises. I'd look like something out of a horror film!
