weigh him now, and then work out what u would like his ideal weight to be and feed him according to those guidelines on the pack of food. Changing his diet is one thing, but if u want him to lose weight you are going to have to walk him everyday.
i also recommend burns

no, i suspect that he should be (only a guess ) about 17kg, so you need to feed the recommended amount for a 17kg dog

If you want to feed veg, pretty much anything goes, but you should blend it first, as dogs can not digest cellulose.

When I make veggies up, I put in: carrots, celery, apples (but no seeds), broccolli, cauliflower, bananas, lettuce....

IE...if you cannot feel his ribs then yes he is fat.
It is no good going by manufaturers guidelines on feed bags.Every dog is an individual and you cannot guage amounts by what it says on a bag....I used to feed 1/2 of what was recommended and my oldest boy was STILL overweight!
Admit to yourself how much yu have been feeding...treats aswell.Firstly cut back on treats...drastically.Break tit bits into smaller peices. Then you need to reduce his meals...I would reduce by about 25%.You also need to increase exercise.

PS 5 1/2 STONE = 35KG!!!!!!

I'm sorry, but Luna's 25 kg, and that's about 55 lbs. So what is Winston 5˝ stone or 20 kg?

20 kg should be about 44 lbs which is just over 3 stone to the site I use to change from kg to lbs.

5˝ stone is about 35 kg... My lab only weighs 25kg, so if he's 5˝ stone, he's obese.....

I'm sorry.....but then you need to do something.....
