Teagan is on a diet, I had to cut her food by 20%.
My vet said to feed lots of veggies though, as many as she wants, as it is bulking out her food, and she will be full, but the food it healthy!

ok, because he is an irish/standard staff mix, you need to know the average weights for each and then find the middle (if you understand that ) Kc standard is 13-17kg (28-38 lbs) so the average would be 15kg , i dont know the average for an Irish.
when you have the 'middle' weight you need to look at the packaging of what you are feeding and it will tell you how much to feed for that weight, then as Carole said, split it into two meals a day

(did anyone understand that )

When you run your hands over his sides can you feel his ribs at all?
Unfortunately even with a pedigree the only way to decifer the correct weight is by feel and sight...

Irish E I would recommend Burns I find it very good, http://www.burns-pet-nutrition.co.uk/
contact them for samples and they will advise on the quantity then you can feed split into two meals if you wish, but I feed one meal and their Kelties as a treat taken from the daily total... and you can still feed a little veg it will not put weight on

Burns is good if your dog needs to lose a bit of weight.

The do an oats version for dogs on a diet.
