Spaying

Hi need some advice please.

I have just got a new puppy around 6-8 months. she a rescue dog.

I have never had a girl dog before and am a bit confused when reading other threads about being spayed, i know she has had this done but what does it mean. Am i right in thinking that she wont have babies and does this also mean that she wont have the season bleeding thing.
