Afghan racing for fun

From thread about wimbledon dog track closing down

It has been there for a very long time. We actually had an invitation to take Afghan Hounds to race there one time only. The daily Mirror was there to do a feature and the bookies also there who had not got a clue about Afghan hounds.
it was so funny, as it was a charity race anyway no one placed any bets and the bookies couldn't understand why. Sue went up to one and said ours would be first past the winning line. He asked how she knew and Sue said because he runs the opposite way to the rest the wrong way around the track. He did as well.

Afghan racing for fun has been taking place for many years on practice tracks across the country and the dogs love it, strickly no betting only an entrance fee to race a dog to cover the cost of track hire.

At Ellsmere Port afghan racing for fun, all family pets

Out of the traps

Wait for me! No I prefer to fly

Who needs a race track anyway

This happened more often than not. Got loads of pictures of Afghans racing and even our Dobermann loved it

Flat out speed

Even Border Terriers loved to chase the hare

Fantabulous T umbleweed!! Seeing piccies of dogs just have sheer fun in a safe environment but unfettered by leads ... the Afghans are beautiful and as for the little border terriers ... such sporty little dogs
