Needle Phobia?

As some of you may know i am type II diabetic (5years now) so need blood taken quite often. This as never been problem before and needles have never bothered me. However in the middle of last year when i had blood take the nurse asked if i was scared of having blood take as i had turned white, i also felt a bit sick.

The next couple of times were the same, so from it not bothering me and feel like i was gunna hurl each time. Then at in december i had more taken and was totally fine and like my old self so thought it was a phase as one of the nurses said it can happen, she had seen people develop a needle phobia after many, many years.

Then today i had more taken and almost threw up again, and when at the vets tonight when Star had his jab and the vet asked if i would still be able to do it myself, at the miunte no as just the thought is making me feel ill.

So my question is there anyway to stop this devloping into anything worse and go back to the way i use to be.

The only thing I can think is to desensitise yourself, but that would involve constant exposure to the thing you dislike. Maybe try and keep giving his jabs yourself.
