Some new photos of the lovely Miss Dahlia

I've been playing around with the manual settings on my camera (only took me two years to start doing this!) and I've been really pleased with my latest photos.

This first one from last night has to be one of my most favourite Dahlia photos ever.

Here's another one from yesterday. She just got groomed so she's all spiffy and cleaned up looking!

And a couple of her playing fetch from the other day. You might notice a colour difference between the first two and these. I discovered, much to my horror, that I had accidentally set the white balance for cloudy. And it's been like that for ages. Oops!

Another photo I really like from this past weekend.

We don't call her Dahlia F. Beast for nothing (F stands for Ferocious!).

Fab photos and a beautiful looking dog. What sort of camera do you have?

Thank you both of you!

I use a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ18. It's a point and shoot, but a fancy one (I've seen it classified on one site as "DSLR-like"). It has some nice manual controls, not the full range a real SLR would have, but enough to keep me happy at this point! And it's significantly cheaper. I'm quite happy with the camera.

It's one of the super zoom cameras. The "18" means it's an 18x zoom, which is an incredible length. For the real close-up photos I was sitting a quite a bit away from Dahlia and zoomed in to 10-12x to get them (the first two photos were taken from the same place, both are zoomed in a bit).

Thank you all! And yes, she does love the lens. More than any other dog I've known. And Literally too! One time when we were out on a walk there was a guy there taking pictures of the leaves and other things. Dahlia saw the camera, ran right up to him and sat down in front of him. Like she was striking a pretty pose. He took some photos of her. Silly girl!

Beautifully, clear shots. Well done, she looks gorgeous. xx

I keep meaning to sit down and fiddle around with our camera too. I have no real idea about any manual settings and I'm sure it isn't set up right!!
