Yearling class is it a qualifier?

As you know Lyric took 3rd in her class yesterday - which was Yearling - I was told this wasnt a qualifier by some, and that it is by others. Just wondered if anyone knew. If not I shall contact the kennel club.

Thanks in advance.

I was looking for a good link to put up for you and i think i'm wrong. It was always band E but it appears it has changed this year. Where a breed has a yearling class and CC's are on offer then YES it is a qualifier. http://www.crufts.org.uk/crufts-2011-qualification
That was for Crufts 2011, whether it stays the same for Crufts 2012 or changes back i will have a look for

Thought it had changed when they changed the class title from Special Yearling to Yearling. Could be wrong though

I had this same predicament last month when Hen got 2nd in Yearling. I didn't realise it was a qualifier, a couple of people at the show said he'd qualified and I disagreed, then Nursey gave me the link which said we had qualified.

When I was at an open show the other weekend, another friend said no it wasn't a qualifiier because of the bands, so I contacted the Kennel Club asking for clarification.

They simply sent me the link to the qualifications for Crufts 2011 so I asked them again to be specific and they came back and said as Megan did : Where a breed has a yearling class and CC's are on offer then yes it is a qualifier. Henry's award was at the Breed Championship show so I'm thinking that is ok.

Apparently, about 3 years ago they dropped the special bit from the title and it became a qualifier.

I'm only going by what I've been told though DD, I would hate to misinform you, the chap I dealt with at the KC is:
Jason Winnington
Breed Shows Team
Canine Activities Department
email: Jason.Winnington@thekennelclub.org.uk

Please let me know how you get on xx
