New addition...Sulu the hamster....

Okay...we succumbed, OH is now owed money by son!!! Son however is VERY happy.
There were no resuce hamsters at the nearest centre (I say near it's a 50 min drive each way!) so we phoned Pets @ Home and bingo...
Son chose the hamster because it was perky and seemed to come up to him and the girls in the shop agreed he was a good one as he was the most friendly when they dealt with them.
So..he is home and called Sulu, after Sulu the bionic hamster in the Captain Underpants books by Dave Pilkey!!!!
We got this cage.....
http://www.surreypetsupplies.co.uk/a...ter_Cages.html
If you scroll down it's the Ferplast Duna Fun one...metal and plastic...he seems happy enough and it wason offer...30 quid with a starter pack...not bad.
He is not sleeping in his house though...he's in the tube!!! Typical!!!
I shall post some pics once he's settled in!
Thanks for all your help and advice everyone...I think I may end up calling on you all lots more as time goes by!!!
He's lurvely...my son has already told me off and reminded me he's his....spoilsport!!!! Wait til he goes back to school.......... :smt002

The dogs will love watching it roll around the floor too.. have you got a ball yet?
Jake and Charlie loved watching Claires Hamsters, and now her Gerbils running about the floor in their ball

We had a hamster drag car ball thingy when we had our hammy, and he used to whizz about in it - hilarious to watch

We used to stand empty plastic bottles on the floor and bet which one our hamster would knock over first when he was rolling around the floor in the hamster ball

Our dog would spend ages in my daughter's room with his paws up on the chest of drawers conversing with Lily the hamster.

Hope Sulu isn't too entertaining for your pup

She rolled around on her own I hasten to add- we didn't actually fling the ball, and her in it, at the bottles

And there were rules as well -

no assistance could be given to the ball at any time,

no food could be put in close proximity to your designated bottle,

no sulking allowed if your sister's bottle was the first to fall,

no sticking your brother's bottle to the floor with double sided tape in order to prevent it from falling over
