Why on earth would such intrusive information be required for a survey on grooming?

I think it is insulting to ask such things.

What type of dog do you have?

My Yorkie and Slovakian Rough Haired Pointer need professional grooming.

How often does your dog require grooming?

My Yorkie is clipped every 3-4 months depending on what her coat looks like, my Slovak is handstripped twice a year.

Are there any specific times of the year when you have your dog groomed for e.g. Christmas?

No. I do it as and when needed.

How much does it cost?

£25 for my Yorkie which is wash, clip, nails.

£35 for my Slovak which is handstrip and a trim around the edges.

Do you prefer a salon/mobile groomer?

I have previously used mobile groomers but now use a salon that opened up near me about a year ago. Prior to that the closest salon was some distance away so mobile grooming was more practical.

Is it important that your dog groomer is qualified?

I have never asked to see a groomers qualifications. I assume they have them if they have a successful business.

Please rank the following in importance 1 to 5
For e.g. if price is the most that would be 1, if convenience is the least that would be 5

A-Quality of finish (2)

B-Convenience (3)

C-Time it takes (4)

D-Price (5)

E-Dogs Happiness (1)

That is why I left that bit out.

I'm not sure why that information is needed.

The reason the age is aked is just so I can get an indication of what age group are more likely to use a grromers, for instance only a small percentage of my clients are 20-30
Occupation is asked, purley so we can decide if it is professionals that will use me or or others.
No offense is meant in any way... just trying to find out what age group use a groomers, professional or otherwise and which is most important to them.... my understanding of the survey is that you can for e.g. choose that the dogs happiness is most important, same as the price etc etc etc...

I tried to PM you but it would not let me. I would then happily give all the details you asked for. Can i send you the info another way? If not then I'll put some answers publicly.

Daily

Are there any specific times of the year when you have your dog groomed for e.g. Christmas?

No

How much does it cost?

Just my time as I do it myself.

Do you prefer a salon/mobile groomer?

If I used one it would be a salon.

Why?

Because I like to retain my privacy.

Is it important that your dog groomer is qualified?

Of course, I would not dream of hiring the services of anyone who did not meet the legal definition of competency ie have the relevant skills, knowledge, ability, training and experience to conduct their task safely.

Id be concerned about the so called professionals too! As with anything you pays your money and takes your chance. The majority of people who exhibit coated dogs are not professionally qualified, yet they can groom and prepare dogs beautifully.
