I live 2 miles from Bedlington, so I'll give that one a go.

I think the Bedlington was originally known as the Rothbury Terrier.

2. Oxford/Oxfordshire
3. The Rothbury or Rodbery Terrier(went by both)
4. The breed was named after Dandie Dinmont, a farmer in a novel called Guy Mannering by Sir Walter Scott
5. Glen of Imaal Terrier, Irish Terrier, Kerry Blue Terrier, Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier

p.s. the dandie is spelt with ie not y
