Koalas

Well...started going through the pictures. These guys are just too cute.....but I was always amazed at how they just dozed off...often 1/2 way though eating.

It was raining when I saw my first ones....they were not impressed!

However - there were some slightly more awake ones at Taronga Zoo (Sydney)

And a really awake one (actually moving!) at Australia Zoo (Steve Irwins place - Queensland)

....didn't last long though.....

And then.....

...did you spot it.....?

Seriously cute!

Hope you enjoyed installment one!

You're back!! How was it?

Awesome pics mate, really love the one with the close up where he's cuddling into the eucalyptus! Very sweet!

I held one when I was out there (still not sure how I felt about that but...) he was so cute! He just wrapped himself around me and clung on tight, gazing into my eyes. Pretty good experience for sure.

Looking forward to the next instalment ;o)

I think if I ever come back as an animal, I would be soooooo suited to being a Koala, lol

Apparenlty it is illegal to hold them in all the states except QL? (Although my friend had held one in WA).

Had a fantastic time thanks - it was really amazing - but it was good to come back. Apart from the weather - 33 when I left Sydeny - 7 when we hit heathrow!

Interesting, I did wonder after if it was the right thing to do although it was a nice place. We went to a sanctuary in Sydney, well outskirts near where friends of the family live. It was four years ago too so maybe things have changed.

It's the same with all these things to be honest; elephant rides, swimming with dolphins etc you actually need to put your selfish needs aside and consider the needs of the animals, although each time I've doone it I've never felt wrong, until after.

As for the cold, get a jumper!! ;o)

I think I might be a Koala

Actually, they look a lot like Stitch from Lilo & Stitch

Gorgeous pictures - can't wait for the rest!
