First horse riding lesson this evening...

Sort of

I'm going to meet a friend tonight for a dog walk and in exchange for me bringing some hurdles and what not to do some agility with her dog, she's going to give me my first
riding lesson!

Her horse is unfortunately injured and she's not able to ride at the moment so we're just going through the groundwork tonight but still - a step in the right direction!

I'm sure once you get going properly you'll love it For me there's no better feeling than hacking out on a horse and feeling totally free I've not been able to ride since my injury but am hoping to start up again soon, I've been given the all clear so I'm just waiting for the right time and horse to come along

Hopefully it'll be good exercise for me because I can't do impact exercise (walking is just about ok but can't run, dance etc).

I'm sure I will love it, just have to be careful not to fall off as I'm prone to internal bleeding!

I aim to learn so that I can take Takara out working - she'd love it!!

Thanks guys,

It was great. I've never spent much time around horses and am not confident around them in the slightest.

I think they're fantastic, beautiful animals and I know they're gentle creatures but they scare the hell out of me with their size so we spent some time getting used to the horse today and getting me a bit more confident with her.

The nice thing is my friend who's teaching me has a fantastic bond with her horse as she doesn't believe in using force and works by understanding the horse and getting the horse to trust her so watching her with the horse is fantastic and makes me feel a bit more comfortable!

We're going to meet up a bit more as I'm helping her with training her dog so until Rhia is able to be ridden again, I can just spend some time around her getting used to her.

She's a Welsh Cob and she's lovely

Well when I start riding her and eventually have Takara alongside, I'll ask my friend to take some pics... for now - this is Rhia
