Windows 7

I am looking at getting a new laptop and it comes with Windows Vista Home Premium. However, there is an offer of an upgrade to Windows 7. Would it be better to stick with Vista? I'm confused.

One of the lads at work is trialling Windows 7 and says it's a lot better than Vista and more like XP. Personally, I hate Vista but have not seen Windows 7. I would try and get XP for it if it were for me. My personal opinion only of course. xx

I don't like Vista either!! the new Windows 7 is much more like XP so that would suit me, it's horses for courses, but I would hang on for windows 7 if it were me.

Don't jump in to using a new winblows version too early! You'll end up suffering with all the problems that invariably don't get ironed out before release to the public. In fact, some say win7 is vi$ta with the bugs sort of sorted out.

Dell should start selling laptops with Ubuntu 9.04 soon. Review here.

Here's an article I did summarising some of the things I'd seen about Win7 a while ago. I think it all holds true now.

From my point of view, I reckon for me, the same limitations Vista has would remain or be even more restrictive in the new version.

Bought a new laptop last week - from a salesperson I have known for years. His comment on Windows 7 was wait for a few months - till Microsoft sorts out the inevitable bugs.

He used to work in a computer repair shop,
