FrizbeeDogz is what was called Disc Dogs UK for the first year but we felt a name change was needed to encourage more people to do it and as it is plain what a frizbee is then we though using that word in the name would help us.
This is our second year (actually we'll have been doing events for just one year in June) and an events are held pretty much anywhere within two hours drive of me and where I can get a venue FOC and this year range from Ripon in N. Yorks To High Wycombe. The one in Ripon is our next one.
It is all about having fun, as you can see from the pics a lot of the dogs don't even catch the disc (although in competition this would score more points).
Normally a FrizbeeDogz event would be a two day event (occasionally more) at a country show or craft fair type of thing. One day is normally reserved for doing demos for people to see and the other is normally for competition.
Both on the demo days and on the morning of a competition, training is available for people who don't know much about it.
The afternoon ofa competition day normally has an OPEN competition which really means the best dog wins, and a Handicap competition which means even the worst dog could come back with a prize. More info can be found on the
FrizbeeDogz website
