1st good interation for Misty

Since our larger dog Rosie died Misty has been nervous as I suspect that she feels a little vulnerable now.

Today we went out for our lunchtime walk, Misty has come out of season, and we met a female Husky X GSD X Rotti! We let them both off lead and initially Misty was fine but then she scarpered! The bigger dog was a bit mystified and didn't follow, I put Misty on lead and we let the dogs meet again then walked for a bit and tried letting them off lead again. Misty would come back to me for reassurance when the other dog approached and the other dog lost interest for a bit, after a while they met more comfortably and ended up chasing and playing well. Which Misty clearly enjoyed, I gave loads of praise and hopefully Misty felt some reassurance as well.

I hope you get the chance for Misty to have some more interaction like this, she will soon get accustomed to it. My Amber is a natural and sometimes is too trusting but I have to judge which dogs will interact with her and which ones are likely to want to push their aggression onto to her.

So pleased that it eventually went well. It's good to know that they have doggy friends

Yes its positive, more work needed. I shall try to find some other dog walkers to hook up with.
