Most affectionate breeds?

It's a long story so I won't go into it all, but down the line I am hopefully going to get a puppy and I am just going over a few breeds I like to work out what would fit!!

What would you say we're the most affectionate dog breeds you have ever owned?

I've owned many breeds of dogs but without a doubt the most affectionate dog I've had is my Miniature Schnauzer Gwylim. He's an absolute darling!

Kammi I have owned and worked with a number of breeds and would say 'affection' or in other word trust and affability is down to the individual dog, the genes it inherited from its parents and its experience with the breeder and owner,

So my advice to you would be to check out the temperaments of the parent of any puppy you are interested in and choose a good caring breeder then the rest is up to you

Tips on choosing a puppy

Pugs without a doubt although all the others have been affectionate in their own way, Pugs have the advantage of being able to sit on your lap and lick your ankles while you're walking around the house.

The little oikes walk between my feet, sit on my feet while peeling veg or whatever and if sitting on the sofa with my feet up I have Tucson in front of my knees, Teddy behind my knees and Phoenix sitting on the back of the sofa with her head on my shoulder. They're always as close as can be. If I go out I'll come back to find three little faces pressed against the dog gate going "How could you leave us" so funny.

That's where you need to be careful and make sure you get a well bred one with no breathing issues. Mine are walked for over an hour every day in the woods, they manage fine. You need to be careful they don't overheat on hot days but we've never had a problem as it's always a bit cooler in the woods.
Having 3 they are very playful and active at home too.

I don't know any breeders in Scotland but the Pugs breeders might, they all seem to know each other from shows.
Just be careful with Frenchies and skin allergies.
