I'm so sorry. Everyone said you would know... and it seems you do. Not easy. Hugs and know that I'm sending thoughts and vibes to you from the frozen North.

Oh H, there are no words to express how deeply I feel for you upon reading this. Old Georgie has always been one of my favourites. Such a dignified and handsome fella, my old polar bear. But if his time has come, then its only fair to let him go for one final sleep. Sending you massive hugs and please give Georgie a special hug from me. Sent with love to a very special boy. xx

Oh H, this reminds me so much of the last part of Nala's journey through life.

The mind is willing but the poor old body is worn out and refuses to co-operate.

I'm sure that you will make the right decision at the right time.

Cassie will be waiting to greet him at the bridge xx

I am heartbroken to read this. Georgie is such a special old boy and I feel I have got to know him over the years on here. You have always done over and above what was needed to ensure your lovely boy had the best life possible and I know now that you won't let him suffer. It is so hard to let them go, but it is a kindness that we are able to give them sleep and peace when life becomes too much.

Thinking of you, Dave, Zena and gorgeous Georgie xxx

Sorry to hear about Georgie, H

As many have said you have done your best for him, and I'm sure he knows you love him very very much.

It's the last kindest thing we can do for our beloved pets.. such a tough thing to do but you have to be strong - which we all know you are, and will be for him.

*hug*

So sorry to read this; it's never easy, but you're doing the right thing for him. He's had a fantastic life with you, and 13 is a pretty good age for a GSD.

Sending hugs to you and Georgie.

Helena, as I think I've said before old Georgie is a special one, and you've given him a life which he never would have had without you.

As it happens all those many years ago when we had Ria our Labrador it was her back legs which finally gave out, I had to lift her into the car and out, and looking back I wish I had handled her departure as well as you will do.

In the wild, it doesn't bear thinking about what a dog in Georgies condition would be facing, it would be a long lingering and painful passing so you are doing the right thing, no matter how hard it maybe you have to do it.
