Roly, Fell Terrier, DOB 08

Roly, Fell Terrier, DOB 08

Homing Requirements: Roly needs a terrier owner who can offer him confidence through the lead. Needs low dog density, doesn't like dogs to run at him. He is exemplary in the home with visitors and family members. Needs terrier-proof garden and exit management.

His Story: Roly's previous owner found Roly wonderful in every way but he could easily get over his 4' fencing and could be reactive to certain dogs outside. Adopted a muzzle he settled then had a fracas with a dog, nothing serious but elderly owners nerve went as he was caravanning and there were lots of dogs off lead. We have had no problems with him around dogs but is that 'cause we are terrier savvy’ or not having had bouncy off lead dogs approach him.

Advert: Roly is a Fell terrier and true to breed. A wonderful fella. In the house and with people brilliant; he has been around children too and is good. However, he can be head strong and react on occasion to dogs but needs to build up trust. Roly is walking well in controlled parallel walking next to other on-lead dogs where no touch is allowed. This superb terrier has done so well with us in terrier competent hands he can be as soft a butter!

Roly is a black and tan broken coated 'old fashioned' Fell terrier. He has had a lot of training placed in him in the 10 months by his previous elderly owner. Roly enjoyed company and an active life of 3 walks a day and caravan trips away. He attended weekly dog training and has made great strides. We meet terrier people all the time that feel able to take a terrier in hand and with a no nonsense 'kind firmness' and 'faith in you' attitude which begins to bear fruit. Their terriers begin to believe in themselves and trust other dogs. Delightful chap; someone will be very lucky.

"Please note these dogs are currently in boarding kennels and are also available for foster until a 'forever' home is found".
