When you're old and grey?

When you're old and grey will you still have the same breed of dog or will you change due to your age? and if so what breed would you change to?

I'm not old but since owning dalmatians, I am grey...

I think I may change but I think it depends.... I have plenty of time to up my knowledge of the breed and get enough experience with them to know whether or not I could cope with one when I'm elderly.

I feel elderly already half the time so I guess it wouldn't be much different!

Really, my dogs are great now and I will soon need a motor scooter for walking them anyway so it won't be much different when I'm older, I'd just be concerned about raising a dalmatian puppy when I'm old and decrepit!

One thing's for sure though I'll always have a dog

I'll stay with the same breeds, Dobe, Vizsla or GSP but will take on older rescued dogs, perhaps dogs that are near/in double figures. There is something about older dogs that I love, they are so wise.

Think Zak will be my last GSD, I so love the breed but I think my next breed will need to be smaller don't really know what though. Zak is only 11 months so hopefully I won't have to think about it for a while.

I'll not go into too much detail but theres an elderly lady i often see at shows shall i say whose dogs are pitiful, they no longer resemble the breed even...

She thinks very old school and her dogs havent moved on are a bag of nerves as they dont get socialised, i have vowed not to be like that once i know i cant give them my full attention and hopefully i will see it and not be selfish...

We want to go into pugs

I don't know what I will have but I started off with Jack Russells when i left home, and I have gotten a bigger dog each time, I am now on a Utonagan, and he is already bigger than my Goldie girl at 5 months So when I am elderly perhaps it will be a Leonberger of a wolfhound
