http://www.suzanneclothier.com/blog/...s-and-steering.

Hope link works.

Many people confuse "arousal" with "drive" because they no know different.

A lot of people do not know how to "cap" drive.

It is a bit like novice dog owners (and many novice trainers) concentrate on getting control BEFORE they have attitude.

Attitude is everything, you can put in control later IF you have the skills and knowledge.

The problem is also that many people want to see the drive and/or performance they expect to see in an a mature animal, in a pup.

this is when many dogs are pushed over the edge.

But unless you have a wise trainer, with the relevant experience and knowledge, you may not know the dangers.............. until it is too late.

Whatever breed you are working and whatever discipline you are following.............

ETA my GSD is intense, and often fools those who have no idea what sort of dog he is; for those who DO, they understand "the look" and when he has "lock on"
