Freestyle HTM with Molly (Westie)

Decided to try some freestyle heelwork to music classes with Molly, just for fun.

Both of us are finding normal obedience quite boring at the moment and she already knows a few tricks. She is so much more animated and happy when we do a combination of trick work and obedience so she obviously enjoys that more.

Our first class in next week - I must be mad! HTM with a Westie?

I wouldn't say fab, Pam! She'll likely take the mick out of me!

She's good at agility and at 6 years old, I think I've got as far as I can go with Molly. We enjoy what we do and that's what matters, I don't care if it isn't championship standard as that's not what I'm in it for. I just love spending quality time with my dogs.

I'm finding normal obedience (just pet stuff) quite boring doing it all the time and fancy trying something new, hence this!

Anyway, I digress.....we're going to Heather Smith's Blantyre classes. The last one before the summer break is next week and I was going to leave it until after the summer, but she said that next weeks class will give me some food for thought over the summer and she's probably right!

Please come along next week with Mia, it would be great to see you and give me some moral support.

Positive and motivating is what I really need and, of course, want for my dogs so that's great!

The class is about a 40 mile drive both there and back but hopefully it'll will be worth it.

and BTW you and Molly will be fab!! She is so smart and cute
She is doing great at agility but I know what you mean - I doubt Mia will ever be in the ring at agility
But I think she might love strutting her stuff in a HTM ring - she is a show off

HTM with a Westie? Why not!! I did HTM with my Kerry Blue terrier and got told by a judge we were the only Kerry in htm (not true as I saw one in a training book doing skipping!).

I am sure you will enjoy it-we found it great fun.

I will put some pics of Parker doing some moves when i get time as I now know how to put pictures on here.

Parker was in my national work magazine-they did a feature on him doing heelwork to music.
