If we replaced the word "chavs" with "SBT" or "PITBULL" I wonder if a lot of posters would say "deed not breed" etc?

It appears that those who do not like blanket generalisations applied to certain breeds of dogs are happy if they are applied to certain social groups?!

a person chooses the steps they take in life, if their a chav, or what ever else thats their choice.

a dog doesnt have a choice in ANYTHING. Its behaviour in most cases is a result of the way it was bred, raised and treated..

Therefore you cant compare someone judging a person, in the same way as the whole deed, not breed.

Actually if you were educated in the subject you would realise that individual choice is a VERY small part in the lifestyle of someone. Social and economic factors are a massive influence on so-called 'choices' I.e. lack of opportunity.

And the behaviour of people is not, in most cases a result of the way they were bred, raised and treated??????????????????????????????????????

Ah so people CHOOSE to be born to certain people, they CHOOSE to grow up and live in towns where there is mass unemployment?

The people on this thread CHOOSE to be surrounded by "chavs"?

Everyone has total control over their life?

So tell me, if you grew up on a sink estate, in a town where there was very little employment, poor role models and no money how would you CHOOSE to elevate yourself?

I am really interested.

Oh and of course it comes back down to whos more educated, over who holds what opinion..My bad.

It doesnt matter what plays a factor, that person still CHOOSES themselves.

and you do not think education plays a part in life choices and opportunities?

So if you can take a few minutes to imagine that you are a lone parent who lives in a rural area on benefits with poor yet expensive transport links, how do you CHOOSE to better your life? How do you CHOOSE to get off benefits?
