Buster Collar

Bobbi is due to be nuetered later this month and I was wondering if anyone has tried the inflatable collars instead of the usual buster collar post op?
I'll be grateful for your opinions before I buy one for her.
Thanks.
Audrey

I got a Comfy Collar for after Cain's castration, which is the inflatable doughnut. He has a long body and was still able to get at his back end, so probably not suitable for long dogs. He also got it over his head, bit it and it deflated lasted less than a day. I'm sure they are fine for some dogs, but not Cain

On the other hand, I love my Comfy Cone. Review here

I bought one when Taz had his operation for a blockage, he ate the normal ones! I have used it on the two girls when they were spayed, daughter borrowed it when her girl was spayed.

I had no problems with Taz but I had to thread a collar through it with the girls because they could slide out of it. They were happy enough with it on, daughters dog used it as a pillow and was quite disappointed when it came off.

Thanks ladies. I've ordered a Comfy Collar for Bobbi as she has a vey long body so hopefully it will work well and keep her from getting at her stitches.

Rupert could also get at his back end wearing the inflatable collar. Worked fine for front end injuries but useless for anything on his back end.

Same for Spen, he can get at his back end while wearing it.

Thanks Sarah 1983 & Murf for your replies.
Murf can I ask how you managed to stop Oz & Snoop from licking etc when they were done? Bobbi broke her leg when she was 5 months old but didn't try to get her bandage off but that was because the vet used a no bite bandage.

Neither of the two dogs I've had neutered have worn collars to stop them licking. Neither were interested in doing so. Both Rupert and Spen have worn the cone of shame to stop them getting at silly little injuries they obsessed over though

Thanks again Sarah. Fingers crossed that Bobbi won't be interested in licking either but I'll have the Comfy Collar just in case.
