I am sure that there ARE pedigrees of both breeds in the UK Staffer - and I am sure also that something could be done about it if enough people kept their eyes and ears open and kicked up a fuss. I don't for a minute think that ALL the tosas or pitbulls in the Uk are crosses.

oh and also - crosses and breeds deemed to be of the same type as the banned breeds are equally illegal - so the police can do something about that.

A very interesting link indeed thanks for that! However, personally I am not convinced that many of the larger mollossers (or even some of the smaler ones ) are suitable for most UK owners. You see far too many people are irresponsible - like the chap on this other forum - and you can't have one rule for the responsible, good owners, and one rule for the irresponsible ones. Until everyone can be responsible for these potentially dangerous animals, they need to be banned, for their own safety, and for the safety of the general public. Does that make much sense? i am knackered - was up til four am taking pics of 80s toys

Anyhow - I have no doubt that the tosa is not as bad as some make out - and certainly that it is in the right hands, a calm and sensible family animal - however - we all know that many people in the UK are not the right hands as it were - and do we really need any more large dangerous breeds for certain members of our community to use as trophies, or fighting dogs?
