oh and also - crosses and breeds deemed to be of the same type as the banned breeds are equally illegal - so the police can do something about that.

I am sure that there ARE pedigrees of both breeds in the UK Staffer - and I am sure also that something could be done about it if enough people kept their eyes and ears open and kicked up a fuss. I don't for a minute think that ALL the tosas or pitbulls in the Uk are crosses.

yes true but any body can down load a pedigree from the internet

Until everyone can be responsible for these potentially dangerous animals, they need to be banned, for their own safety, and for the safety of the general public. Does that make much sense? i am knackered - was up til four am taking pics of 80s toys

Anyhow - I have no doubt that the tosa is not as bad as some make out - and certainly that it is in the right hands, a calm and sensible family animal - however - we all know that many people in the UK are not the right hands as it were - and do we really need any more large dangerous breeds for certain members of our community to use as trophies, or fighting dogs?

to whom are you refering to zoundz???? any breed no matter how big or small can be dangerous in the wrong hands and any breed can revert to its natural instinct

Of course it can - but there are some that are more likely to end up in the worng hands because of their appearance, poor press etc etc... I mean, realistically, how many 'ard boys' are you gonna see walking down the street with a miniature poodle or papillon on a lead? Few.

And i refer to those members of society that have trouble looking after themselves, let alone a dog - especially a big one that requires careful training and socialisation and can't just be chained up and bullied into doing as its owner wishes.
