Dahlia shows off her new agility moves!
Dahlia and I started agility classes this summer. We've mostly done foundation things, shaping exercise, focusing the dogs, building drive, but we've done a bit with jumps and tunnels and will be beginning a lot of the equipment in a couple weeks. I own a cheap jump and tunnel so we took Dahlia out on this nice autumn day to get some photos of her using them.
The first thing I did was to set Dahlia up in front of the jump. I turned around and saw THIS look. I'm so glad we got a photo of it. For anyone wondering what on earth she's doing, this is NOT a disgruntled look even though it may look it! This is the face I often get from her when she's super excited about a treat or going on a walk. We call it her "Elvis grin."
Dahlia looks up at me while I get her into position.
We started with the bar fairly low. She had to jump, but it wasn't a huge jump.
She cleared it rather easily!
So then we raised it up quite a bit. As you can see, she cleared THAT rather easily too. Go Dahlia!
Then we pulled out the tunnel. It can extend to 18 feet and bend, but we're not quite ready for it to bend just yet, so we left it out mostly extended and straight.
We went back to the jump for one last try.
And then got this!
"I'm SO done with this Mom!"
Awww Mom, I'm tired!
At that point, she pretty much melted into a big puddle of Dahlia, so it seemed like a good time to take her home so she could sleep.
