Rescues and vets

Just a quick question for those of you who work or help out at rescues, do the vets in the UK (or anywhere else for that matter) give thier time to the rescues for free, and if not what sort of discount do they give?

The vets that the rescue Gracie come from do give them discount. I suppose that the amount of business the rescue give them makes up for the lower price they charge. And the Charity we foster small animals for also get a discount from their vets, think they get 40 percent discount.

The rescue my dog came from are associated with a local veterinary clinic and they give discounts on boosters, microchipping and spaying/neutering to all dogs adopted from the rescue centre

4O% ttt thats not bad, its just I was at the refuge today walking some of the dogs and one of the inmates had been to the vets, I asked if they got a discount and they said that they had been charged 82 euros and normal price for his treatment was 89 euros, 7 euros discount personaly I thought that was disgusting, I get more discount than that when I take 2 or 3 of mine at the same time (family discount )

I think it is down to the vet's discretion. When I did GSD Rescue in Lancaster my vet did give us a discount, but I don't think it was a big one ... about 5-10% I think.

I don't personally deal with the vets in my volunteering capacity in Scotland, so not sure whether our organisation gets a discount ... will find out.

The vets where I take Molly & Mindy started their own business about 10 years ago after qualifying with the RSPCA.

They give discount to animals which have been rescued. No matter where from. I think its 20%.
