Dried sprats

I bought some fresh sprats for my dog but he doesn't want to eat them. They're in the freezer now (I tried giving him one frozen but still wasn't keen).

I saw on zooplus.com that they are selling dried sprats. He's had the Sea Jerky dried fish and loves it. So I thought I might oven dry the sprats and use them as training treats.

Anyone oven dried sprats before? I was thinking I'll defrost them and put them in a really low oven for a few hours. Just wondered if anyone has done it already and if it'll work

Reckon it will scent the house more than a bit, should work though.

LOL yes I thought of that. I'll have to open all the windows first! I won't do it tomorrow as I'm having a home visit from the Freedom Project. Don't want her coming in to a fishy stinky house LOL

You forgot to mention Pita that it will scent the house nicely for a good few days. LOL

Let us know how you get on Sarah.

My two aren't overly keen on fish; though once they get started on one they are grand. They get fed once a day, so the day before I feed fish they get fed in the morning. Then on the day they are getting the fish I feed them in the evening, so I know they will be ready for their food.

I've never tried drying fish; let us know how it goes.

Well, I chickened out of the sprat drying idea - I just couldn't face having a house that stinks of fish for days on end!

I'm sad to say I chucked them out this morning

Don't blame you in the slightest. I'm surprised you held out this long.
