Just do what I do and say nobody is getting anything as I am to tight fisted.
I just don't do Xmas anymore.
I am also another one who prefers dogs to children. I prefer anything to children. Not got a maternal bone in my body and I am female.
Don't worry about it. It's only one day. The trick is not to give a damn what other people think. It hardley makes you a bad person.

Nearly 19, out of 6th form and trying to find work is a nightmare. And yes I agree it's £2 odd for me just to get to town on the bus.

I can't play the skint card so, I say I'm a tight wad.
I don't like the get togethers either so it guarantee's I don't get invited anywhere.
I do actually buy for a couple of friends but, because I want to not because it's Xmas.

I have a lovely plan.........there are some gorgeous Christmas baubles that have Baby's first Christmas on...they donb't cost a lot,you can get her details put on it, or even do one yourself! then it can be a special item that comes out every Xmas to remind them all of her first Xmas.....as she gets older she will be able to place it on the tree herself....

i wont be buying xmas pressies this year for the family have called them and explained they are fine with it i will prob buy a few nieces and nephews but stuff from the 99p shop bubble bath shower gel etc and that goes for my kids who also understand how tight things are at the moment.
i would do the babysitting card for your sister,or ironing something like that. yes itll be your nieces 1st xmas but then thats down to the parent s to make it special not you.
and as for saving up a pund a week what crap my mum died 6weeks ago and weve had to pay towards her funeral so that saving lark goes out of the window when real life kicks in and you need the money for other stuff
