Today was going to be EFFICIENCY day ...

Had the early night, resulting in me being wide awake at 3am. In the bath by 4.30am - walking muttley by about 6am.

All set to drive over to Dherynia (about 50km) to get my bargain patio set. The guy gave me directions on the phone yesterday to a big roundabout near them - I was then going to ring from there to get the last 'fiddly' bit.

First hiccup - phone was misbehaving so I turned it off and on again and it then locked the sim and asked for the code. I was sure I knew it - summat like 12345 because I never change it and they are all the same when new. That didn't work - I shortened and then lengthened it - added a zero etc. Seems if you get it wrong 8 times you have to go in and get a new sim card. Geezus. Looked up the address of the place and thought well I will leave earlier and ask from somewhere else. Then spotted their opening hours. They don't blerdy open until 10am! Thought I'd pass some time shifting a few bits around but they were making so much noise on the tiles I abandoned that - everyone else is still in bed.

Efficiency day is not getting off to a good start. I've been awake for 5 and half hours and so far only managed to walk the dog. At this rate I'll have to take her out again before I leave!

I should have sat putting in a few hours work but, because I hadn't planned to do it this morning - I am childishly not WANTING to! Would feel like being told to go to school when you thought you had half a day off!

If I were you Pat, I'd go back to bed and start all over again!!! Maybe when you wake up the phone will work, the man will be on the doorstep to take the pool table away, and the man who's selling you his, has arrived to escort you to his house, or better still, he's delivered it to you.....nah, that's not gonna happen is it!!

What I want to know is, how on earth are you going to get a patio table and chairs into your car??? Can't you chat up a man with a van to go and get it for you for a few bob maybe?

I can see what kind of day you're gonna have there, but at least you've got good weather. I hate days like that, I have had a few.

Hi Tang

The times I have been having a shower, and in my head had worked out what my day should be,in a past life, being a chartered accountant, get into the office, the phone starts ringing non stop, and I end up with umpteen new things plus the ones that I had thought about in the shower, its called ''sods law'' and happens every time when any one tries to be ultra efficient.crystalgirl
