Molli's First Show

We went to Crewe and District today and entered molli in AVNSC Gundog, she was the only lab in the show in think, anyway we got 2nd, there were only 2 in the class but still he didnt have to place us at all.
I'm super pleased and cant wait for the next show now.

Second out of two is inconclusive IMO as it's extremely rare for a judge to withhold a place at an Open, plus if you are in AV you are up against the judge's preference for breed so you can have the best Lab in the world but if the judge is a spaniel man he/she could be biased. Under a different judge with the same dogs your positions could be reversed! When I used to be in that position I eagerly awaited the critique, which I hoped would indicate whether I was a "close second" or an also-ran. I could be either from show to show!
The first show with a dog is always nerve-wracking even for those of us with many year's experience - and whatever the show and numbers of entries! It's great you both enjoyed it and are keen for the next one, you will go in confident and ready to take on the world!
Best of luck to you both, here's to the start of a show career and hopefully plenty more reports of her doing well!

Thanks for the comments. Yeh the judge breeds welsh springers and the dog that i was up against was a welsh springer. Still enjoyed the show though tbh i reli thought i was gonna be thrown out as i kinda got all nervy and dint handle to well. Still its all experience.
Thanks again
