Poor Deer :(

This afternoon on the way to the shops we seen a female deer lying at the side of the road so we stoped ,she had been hit by a car and couldnt get up ,I had to run to a nearby house so I could phone the vets then I went back and stayed with her till the vet came ,he had a quick look over her then sedated her to take back to their surgery where they said she would prob have to be PTS ,I called them a while ago and she did have to be PTS ,poor girl how could whoever hit her just leave her suffering for hours at the side of the road at least she isnt in pain any more

One bit of good news though if anyone can remember the young woodpigeon I was looking after ,I was able to let it go today ,when I found it the poor thing was too weak to fly ,but now it has had a good feed for a few weeks and was able to fly away back to freedom

The poor deer but you did the best you could and alot more than some, i bet who ever hit it didnt even bother to look to see if it was alive so sad
good news about the pigeon though, weldone i once had a pigeon that was very weak but it had a ring around it so we phoned the owers and they asked us if we could feed it for a week till it got it strenth back, luckly i had a spare rabbit hutch so i kept it in that for a while

Ahhh that poor deer! I don't know how some people can be so careless! Well done for doing something for her, I'm sure she would have appreciated your help.

Well done for the pigeon! Good for you!

unfortunately it's common here because it's all country and woods, the amount of road kill involving deer and other large animals is awful. At least the poor thing is somewhere out of pain now, congratulations on the wood pigeon
