To me driving is more about confidence than ability. I guess people make mistakes when thier nervous. When you say 16 points do you mean 16 minor mistakes they usually point out from thier checklist during the test?

PurpleJackdaw : Sorry to hear you failed.
But it seems like it was just bad luck. Hurry up and sign up for a new test soon. I´m sure you will pass this time

Sorry you failed. I only passed a couple of months ago....everybody seems to expect it these days!

I had taken a test when I was 17, but failed, another when I was 25, but failed, another when I was 34 (thats what age I am now) failed....then put in for a cancellation, and passed two weeks later.

It's so expensive too..isn't it.

Chin up, If I can do it, anybody can

Oh! what a bummer, sorry you did not manage it this time. My Dad was an examiner and he told me that they look for confidence as well as safe road use, so perhaps you need to practice looking confident and driving up to the required speed and I am sure you will make it next time.

As my OH says, all the best drivers fail on their first attempt

Good luck for next time!
