Wolf Creek

Billed as "The Scariest Film of the Year" by The Grauniad and "Bold, Brutal and Bloody Nasty" by Total Film, I was tempted by this DVD when I saw it offered dead cheap in my local DVD shop. It's creepy, yes, and atmospheric, but it doesn't hold much in the way of surprises. Think of cross between "Blair Witch Project" and "Texas Chain Saw Massacre" and you're about there.
Two female Brit backpackers and their male Ozzy pal run into a madman, which sort of spoils their day. For some unexplained reason, their watches and car won't work. You never get the reason, so little point in guessing at it.

Not a bad film, but not a good one, either. Die-hard horror fans (at whom it's aimed) will be disappointed.
