Greg has a cold, any extra advice? :-( (staffordshire bull terrier)

Been to the vets this evening as Greg has had a cough and seemed to be having trouble breathing every now and then. His glands in his neck were swollen and he has a bit of a temperature, so the vet thinks he has cold, he has sneezed quite alot and has been a bit more tired. Poor boy had and anti-inflammatory injection and a course of anti-biotics. (my purse is £54 lighter to show for it!)
Any other suggestions for making him feel better?
or has anyone had this sort of thing with there dog?
I didnt realise dogs got colds!

A spoonful of honey might help sooth his throat if he's coughing.Hope he's better soon.

baby benylin is good for colds ,helps with the cough,and sore throat,ahh poor baby,a big hug coming his wayxxx

hi adele4dan sorry i never knew dogs got colds either u could try rubbing a little vicks on his/her chest to help with the breathing , one of my boxers had a bad sinus infection once and was on anti biotics and my bessie and sis suggested it so did the vet it really helped big hugs and healing wishes coming for greg sorry just realised he was male silly dolly needs new specs i think :get well soon greg

Just an update, Greg seems much better, the cough seems to have gone, still sneezing with a runny nose though(yuk). Thanks for all the nice well wishes!
