sorry Steve i just presumed you'd realise i was in the UK when i mentioned BASC

but game birds cant be that popular here if 80% have to be 'exported' can they.

Everyone knows BASC-even non shooters like yourself.

Its not that they have to be exported.Its simply down to another country paying a better price.

no thats not the case at all, the Fact is theres no demand for that meat over here.

personally i would love to see proof that they are even exported at all!

In rural/traditional butchers you'll still see game openly sold.One butchers shop in Bedford usually has rabbit,hare & pheasant hanging inside the window when in season (rabbit & hare are classed as groundgame) so it is still popular.

Thing is-do they need to prove anything?

Like i said previously though,game is eaten round here-our local farmshop buys & sells game.They buy anything like hare,pheasant,boar,woodpigeon,rabbit and is where i offload what i shoot so there still is a market for it.
