Sleep tight Tess. I am so sorry for you all. Do you know what it was?

I am so sorry for your loss of Tess What a terrible shock for you especially with it being so sudden. Run free Tess at the Bridge and enjoy meeting up with new friends until you are reunited with your human family again.

Thank you all for your comforting words.

I don't know what caused Tess to deteriorate so suddenly. She was obviously in heart failure when I found her this morning. After her passing she expelled some blood in her faeces and the vet said that was not usual and indicated some gastric problem. Possibly a tumour?

He offered a post mortem but I didn't see the point. She was nearly 13 and it would not help her or us to know. All I know is she was her normal cheeky self rolling in the grass yesterday afternoon on her walk trotting along happily and felt well enough to eat last night but obviously then felt ill.

It is a shock and is only just starting to sink in.

I'm so sorry, what a dreadful shock
Console yourself that yesterday at least she was happy and enjoyed her walk.
I am always happier when a dog passes naturally and doesn't have to be euthanised.
Love to you all.
