I have never heard of bread being harmful to dogs - in the past if I had run out of biscuits i would use bread as a mixer to go in the meat

I have also toasted bread and cut it into squares and put that in with their scrambled eggs

My two share my toast in bed with me in the mornings (which o/h makes for us all!) but they only get the bits I don't want, i.e. white bits or burnt bits!

But, a word of advice if I may. People have always given bread to horses, but one day when I was up at our yard, one of the girls gave her horse some bread and it must have swelled up in its throat as it got wet inside it's mouth and she had to get the vet out as it was choking to death! It was a pretty bad experience for me and the vet gave her a right telling off. So just be careful with fresh white bread, as I would hate the same thing to happen to your dog.
