Tall Ships 2011 - Greenock, Scotland.

Hello all,

Is anyone coming to Greenock for the Tall Ships 2011 this weekend (Sat - Tues)?

I'll probably go on Saturday or Sunday.

We last won the bid 12 years ago in 1999 (can't believe it was that long ago - makes me feel old!). I was about 13 years old at the time but remember it well, it was a fabulous long weekend with glorious weather (which I think was a fluke but never mind!).

I'm quite looking forward to it!

I can remember the Tall Ships coming to Gt Yarmouth in 1981, i think it was the day of Charles and Dianas wedding as my nanny had been longing to watch them on the TV but sadly passed away early that morning, I was 16 at the time so you've made me feel like a right oldie!

They were in Torbay in 2006, when we had thick mist and torrential rain.

Sorrry for making you feel old! Feeling a tad older myself when I think that it has been 12 years ago since they were here, and I remember it well! What are we like?

Oh dear. What a shame. As you say, it can't be helped and we can't change the weather....(if only....).

Weather on STV for the weekend says light rain and the BBC says dry and fairly bright! Who knows how it'll go? Probably better just looking out the window on the day and seeing for ourselves! Doubt the weather will be as good as 12 years ago though, but never mind, such is life!
