If it is a Chilean rose tarantula I would keep it as a pet and look after it.

Wow, I'd be terrified! Where did you come across that? Lucky it wasn't my house, my dogs have a habit of eating spiders

I live in Essex, From what I have read tonight on Chilean rose tarantulas they can kill a dog.

There is a lot of info on Chilean rose tarantulas on the web and from what I have read they are easy to keep, I have got a fish tank that I don't use, but I want to be sure of what it is before bringing it into my house, I think the best thing to do is take it to the pet shop in the morning, my local one has spiders.

Definately a Tarantula and I agree it looks to be a Chilli Rose aswell. It's probably a pet that has escaped from somewhere (or been chucked out). Looks underfed from the pics.

Today I found out for certain what it is and yes it is a Chilean rose tarantula, unfortunately I couldn't keep it, my wife for some strange reason didn't like it, so I have taken it to a pet shop that specialises in reptiles,
thanks for you help

I think your wife is very wise, I wouldn't want one in the house either, ohh makes me go all itchy just thinking about it I'd also be a bit worried as to where its mummy and daddy are
