Has the miniature schnauzer bubble burst?

hello gorgeous dogsey people, quick question, has the miniature schnauzer bubble burst? im not a breeder but i decided to allow my two beautiful schnauzers to breed just once for the whole puppy experience, safe (i thought) in the knowledge that i would be able to sift through many applicants for the most perfect homes. isabels scan showed 2 babies but she in fact had 6. now im in a blind panic because nobody seems interested. its a recession and theres not much money about i know, but i cant help wondering if its to do with the breed. any thoughts anyone???xxx

Most people who are seriously determined to get a pedigree will want to know if the parents are health tested and the pups are kc registered, will your pups be registered? And are your dogs health tested? Can you add your litter to the kc website so people looking can see them?

Maybe you should have tested the market before you decided to give yourself the experience of breeding.

MS are a very popular breed and as far as I am aware the bubble has not burst.

Are your dogs KC registered, did you do the relevant health tests for the breed, maybe that`s the reason you are not selling or maybe as you say its down to recession.

I hope you are well equipped to own 8 mini schnauzers , if you cant sell any on.

No. You thought you would make lotsa dosh from breeding - and yes, you are a breeder whatever you think. "Just once" makes you are a breeder and now you are in a "blind panic" because you have puppies you cannot sell.

So what are you going to do with these puppies now? You did not, I believe, have the dam and sire health tested and you now ask us what to do with the pups?

Did you not think of this before? Or did you just see the ££££ that the puppies might bring.

sorry, but that just smells to me, like again another case of "oh sooo sweet puppies experience" experiment, which just produced some more shelter dogs

very well done! we still need more of them !

As Crystalgirl says try the breed society, hopefully they will be able to help you.

It's too late to jump down Caroleann's throat now. Hopefully she will have learnt her lesson.
Now lets try and help her.

I doubt it is the breed, they are beautiful little dogs. I would think that those serious about a healthy, well socialised Pup have done their research & gone for good, experienced breeders who probably don't even breed a litter until they have homes & those who don't care probably want a cheap Pup so won't pay the hundreds they probably are for sale for

Sorry Nippy, but I have to disagree, I am sure the breed clubs have enough to deal with without having a litter of pups dumped on the.

I know the horse has already bolted and i can see your point, but to be honest every time we say "oh never mind, its to late now,! its encouragement for others to do the same.

I am not against breeding, far from it, but for someone to breed for the "experience" then after the event worry how they are going to get rid of the pups, is not something I can condone or support.

I will give the poster the benefit of doubt in as much as she is ready to "keep" all /any pups she cant sell ,and NOT put them into rescue,

well, you are right Nippy

but some people just need a jab with a fencepost, before they ever will understand what's really going on all about this irresponsible handling

and maybe Caroleann has learnt of that lesson
but to read "those" comments, it might will help in future, right for those "breeders" who still haven't thought about

and maybe some of them will rethink their doing, BEFORE it is to late

so only kind words, to support them, trying to help... doesn't help the puppies which had not should get bred
