Indies not a particuarly good eater, well, at least she doesnt eat much. Shes currently on 2 meals a day but rarely eats her first meal. Shes 11 months old, so would it be wise to put her onto one meal a day?

her first meal is usually about 10am then her 2nd meal is at about 6/7pm. As shes on a raw diet, she usually gets a lb - lb and a half of meat between 2 meals.

Hi Jenny, think its usually acknowledged they can go on 1 meal about 1yr old, she`s almost that now & seeings tho she`s not fussy on her first meal you could put her on just one meal & see if she eats it all then
Christine.

I don't know about your particular breed of dog but I do know that for deep chested breeds like Boxers, it's suggested that they eat 2 smaller meals a day throughout their lives to minimize bloat.

I find I do that with my staffie - 2 smaller meals - also he eats in in about 4 secs flat so really scoffs it and sometimes so much so that he is sick after it - but defo find that 2 meals a day is better for him. - after one big one he literally drags his belly along the ground

I also feed my two twice daily generally an hour after exercise as I feel that in the exercise they have gone through the hunting sequence present in all canines, their meals are their prey.

Thing is tho Indie rarely eats her first meal so whats the point of putting a meal down that itsn`t being eaten?
Maybe if she`s cut down to one meal it might sharpen her apetite.
Christine.
