I have good news!! We took Riley into town at about 6pm after the shops had shut so there would be less people around, though still enough for him to be able to see them. Immediately as he got out of the car someone came over to see him and he barked but luckily they weren't too put off. I said to them that he was nervous and we were trying to socialise him and she was nice enough to crouch down and offer him the food which he took and then she was able to make a fuss of him which he loved!!
That was the last bark he did all the time we were there (which was nearly an hour even though we didn't walk very far at all) and by the time we came home he was pulling me to people for a cuddle!!
We're taking him to the pet shop and parrot shop tomorrow, and i know most of the people that work in them so they'll be happy to help out im sure! Im hoping that he wont bark at all again, but im trying not to get too hopeful!!! But it was amazing how quickly he decided this big scary person wasn't so scary afterall!! Bless him!

Thanks for all your help! Its much appreciated and i'll let you guys know how he is tomorrow!
