bleeding after a spay?

Takara was spayed on Thursday.

Eddy's been quite 'interested' in her bits today and a bit of yesterday and I just shrugged it off but have just noticed that she's bleeding from her vagina.

It's not like a season, in that it's not dripping - I've just noticed blood on it - and it's quite dark.

I'd assume it was normal and just because of some small bleeding from inside during/after the op but I just wanted to check. Should I be concerned?

Thanks

Hi Lottie,

I can honestly say that I have never noticed any bleeding from my bitches following spaying.

If I were you I would just ring the vet just to check, better safe than sorry.

I've got to take her down to the vet at 10:45... I feel awful I just assumed it was probably from a little nick during the op...

Don't worry, at least they'll check her out. When Tyler had his recent castration op he also had a tumour removed from his eyelid. That evening it looked as if he was crying tears and I ummed and ahhed about calling the emergency vet.I did ring them in the end and she told me there had been a blood clot close to where she had sutured it and it must have just come away, nothing to worry about , if only they had warned me beforehand. It could be something as simple as that.

Please let us know, and don't worry, they would have said come immediately if they were worried about her xx

Thanks guys

She's cleaned the blood off now and I can't see anymore, for now so I hope that IF anything is wrong, the vet can find it out without the only symptom I've noticed...

I'm waiting now until I can take her - the wait's horrible but at least I know it can't be too serious, otherwise they wouldn't have said wait til 10:45...
