Thanx Griff - that's one tick then! I think virtually all dog owners would respect the place and if any damage occurred that was expensive be happy for it to be deducted from the deposit. We have stayed at many self-catering places over the years, and I remember once I broke 2 glasses - only cheap ones - but I left a tenner. I cannot recall anything else.

How dangerous can it be to attach a dog to a pushchair via a flexi lead! The mind boggles!! Even a tiny dog could cause a disaster. Some people!!

When we are in the pub with Ben I tie his lead round my leg in case Smokie the pub cat decides to saunter in! At the end of the day, it will be me who gets hurt when Ben takes off but at least my 11 stone will anchor him down to earth and allow Smokie to hoof it!! We discovered that tying him to the table was not a good idea, even though it was a massive old scrubbed farmhouse table probably weighing almost as much as me!!

Best training ground for any dog! They have to behave so's not to annoy the other punters, and it is brilliant socialisation for them. We took Ben's father, Hal, to our local at 8 weeks in a little bag and he would sit on top of the beer barrel next to the bar! Everyone would coo over him, the attention he got was so good for him, and every 20 minutes I would just take him out into the courtyard and pop him down on a training pad. I refuse to go into any pub that does not allow dogs on a matter of principle! I think pubs are the most brilliant places for both young children and dogs to learn to behave in public in adult company where they are not the centre of attention. I love to see a good pub full of well behaved children and well behaved dogs!

I couldn't take Kota as a pup as she was labelled aggressive and I was told I had to go 2years with no incidents before the insurance would touch her so she got socialized on walks and at training, to be honest she might well be o.k as long as no one touched her as she gets very excited and I am paranoid about her scratching people with her claws

Took Cariad, Lona and Zen out for a walk and a play on the field, it started raining, a very fine rain, not too bad.Girls had a good time until Zen showed Lona the pile of grass cuttings left to fester in a corner of the field, and no matter what, threats, promises, light hearted calls, they both rolled in it, ate it(yuk) and totally ignored me. Eventually Cariad (she was on a line thank goodness) and I made as if to leave without them, and they came charging up. By then it was raining a little harder. Home, handed out bones, changed dogs and off with Mabs and Kesh, it was pouring down by then, stopped to put my likkle hat on and zip up my coat and carried onto the field. Had a good game of ball with Mabs and Kesh, and kept them away from the corner by the simple means of throwing a ball in the opposite direction. Was getting soaked so we headed for home, handed out more bones, skipped out. Brought the bin in and left it soaking in bleach and disinfectant, quick hose of the yard, and back inside. Lona kept coming out, I kept sending her in, then it was Kesh with a bone in her mouth, eventually everyone stayed in where it was dry with clean shavings down. Of course it has stopped raining now and brightened up
Nikki, have told the girls about your Plan, and they immediately got their back packs out and started packing toys and spare bones. Have had to explain it is still at drawing board stage, and they are sobbing in the corner, consoling each other Can imagine your OH's face if WE rolled up His absolute WORST nightmare multiplied by 5
Griff, thought you were quiet, what a confession eh, ready for 'C' and October not out yet

Yes, exactly what Rianna was doing in her last year They do know what they can and can't do and if Ben is getting old I agree that turning round and going home is best. As long as they have some exercise, that's the important thing when they are old.
