Those we love are like fires, in life their friendship and love warms us and when the fire goes out we feel so cold and dark. But they leave behind bright burning embers enough for all that knew them to keep and a warmth that lingers with all those who even brushed by them, or met them in their journeys.

We can catch and keep those embers in our hearts forever and when we think of them we feel their warmth and love again. At first the heat is so intense it burns and the pain can hide their comfort, but in time we are just warmed for having known them and comforted just by their presence in our hearts.

Run free sweet boy. My beautiful Selkie passed today and she's a friendly bright spirit, run free and play on the bridge darling ones and know that when we think of you it will be with joy for the life we shared and not sadness for your passing. We will hold your ember forever and your light and warmth will lift us and make is more than we were. .
