Hello
I have two doggies, a 8 - 9-year-old male buff colored American Cocker named Thumper and an 8 - 9-year-old female Brittany named Daisy. I don't have an accurate birth date as they are both rescued dogs. I could have had any dog I wanted, but I felt that the adult dogs who have been rejected for what ever reason deserve a chance to be a member of a family again. If I was very very rich, I would have a huge animal rescue site, with plenty of staff to make it all work properly. I am definitely not talking about animal hording but rather a rescue and adoption resource for animals. But I am just a mid-income family and two are all I can afford. I carry VPI insurance on both of my dogs and I am glad that I do as my Cocker just ruptured his ACL and needs surgery so he is getting TPLO surgery and his insurance will cover a little over half of the costs. Thanks goodness as the surgery alone is $2400.00.
In Alaska everything costs more. It doesn't matter though as he is a member of our family and until our dying day he will be very well taken care of.
So this is my current crisis and I was just going to check out this site to see how other doggies have done after having TPLO - that is if there is any information on here about that. I will let you all know how he does, as surgery is on 2/11/11.
