Bloody Heron!!!

Last year I bought ten teeny wee goldfish from P@H for like a quid each, to stick in the mahoooosive pond OH had made. They lasted brilliantly, and had easily quadrupled in size.

Lots of places for them to hide in there, and the OH had surronded the area with rocks so herons couldn't land.

Never had a problem with herons before - until this morning. There are no fish in the pond now due to one greedy heron

What a shame I have fish and worry about mine but I love to see the Herons flying round here too.

What about a heron model standing on the side of the pond thats meant to deter them if you decide to replace the fish. I also saw the other week a hawk like model and it is supsended and you can hang that near your pond too it might frighten the small birds off if you like them coming into the garden though.

We already have a model heron at the pond

I like birds in the garden! Just not herons eating my fish.

Oh blimey that didn't work then and the hawk thing would not be ideal if you like the small birds coming in and it still might not frighten the heron.

The plastic heron didnt work for us either in the end we resorted to making a wooden frame and covering it in chiken wire..........stopped the heron allright but the foxes would walk over it and c --p on the mesh.
