The most I have had at one time was nine, but that was three bitches and six pups, one pup being 10 weeks older than the other five.

I have 3 dogs and I get

'you have your hands full'

No, I don't actually.

'do they get on?'

No, they rip each others throats at every opportunity - can't you tell by the scars and unhealed wounds?

When I had four I always used to get the comment 'They're not all yours are they?' Well no I just gained them while I was walking?!?

I think they all meant well but were shocked by a young woman walking so many dogs.

I have to admit though I'm very proud whenever people comment on how well behaved all my dogs are There are days when they are a right bunch of hooligans but the at least come back when called and are well socialised. I generally say they should see them at home!

i have three and already know i want at least one more.

i get funny looks anyway because asbo is bald, and the size difference between the cresteds and the lurcher is pretty big. so walking them all onlead together i do get funny looks.

i used to get it when walking the flatcoats as id have 6 out at a time. "you've got your hands full" "whos walking who" etc.. does get tiresome but i tend to not let it bother me haha!

I have 5 and also get the "you've got your hands full" comment a lot! Used to think about wearing a t-shirt with "yes I do have my hands full!" printed on it! But like others have said its normally people being friendly and the first thing they think to say. When we go on holiday to the Isle of Wight we go with my mother and father in law and their two pugs so we walk around with 7 in total and quite an assortment, 2 bullmastiffs, 2 pugs, 1 greyhound, 1 collie x and 1 Italian greyhound, so mother in laws favourite saying to passers by is " we have every colour, every shape and every size" which normally gets a chuckle out of people! I would like to add they are perfectly behaved on their hols and have visited castles, gardens, donkey sanctuary and seaside towns!

I have 6 right now and have had as many as 15 in the past. I get the same comments everyone else gets. People don't seem to realize that if I didn't like it I wouldn't have so many.

Most dogs in the UK are house dogs, can't imagine keeping them outside
