Aww thanks Popster & susannah92, I really appreciate your kind words and thoughts.

I forgot to mention that I didnt know until I got there that this new vets is actually a hospital with in house surgical wards, in house laboratory, in house digital radiography department incl contrast radiography (no idea what that means).

They did say that most routine bloods are done in house and results available same day but the more complex ones are sent to specialist labs so may be a few days. Wont know what the vet wants to do until the routine ones are done (guess that complex ones are done if routine ones do not show any thing).

I intend to have an early night tonight as Harv has to be at Vets for 8 am so want to get up early, give him his meds and settle him down before going over.

Am going into this with an open mind and still prepared for the worst, that way my hopes cant be dashed too soon.

Forgot to say, you bet I will keep everyone updated as soon as there is any news I will be on here to update you guys xx

Just wanted to add, since we have been home Harvey is regularly producing the worst farts I have ever smelt. He does not normally do wiffy ones even when eating Broccoli.

Tonight he has only eaten chicken, a small handful at most of kibble (good brand) and half a sardine.

Could it be the fish ?

He seems to be changing from minute to minute now.

Tried to get him to take his med before I head off to bed and until tonight he has snapped it down.

It's only a half tablet wrapped in a slice of cooked ham.

He took it and instead of just gulping it down as normal he tried to chew the ham. He actually whimpered twice and visibly winced before spitting the ham and now desolving tab out.

I went and got a little cooked chicken, cut it up into very small slices and managed to get the med in him but I'm thinking the chewing thing and seeming to show some discomfort or pain when doing so is somehow significant?

After this I tried to move him from his bed in the front room to his night time bed in the kitchen baring in mind his wee and poo accidents and he flat refused to move.

When I gently put my hand under him to lift him our of his bed he growled and snapped at my arm.....

He hasn't broken the skin but its marked and certainly hurt and never ever has he done this to anyone let alone me.

I've left him where he is, didnt have the heart to stress my boy out by forcing him to move. I could probably make him move but it would stress him...

I'm really going to sleep tonight now

Laying here wide awake, feeling so guilty that I had to leave Harv alone downstairs.

Thinking about it, his sudden decline, the tremors, the loss of appetite and now the aggression I do think it's a tumour.

The signs are there and it's not good.

This thread is about Harv but I'm in bits.

I've just been downstairs to check on him and there was no slight tail wag, no reaction to my gentle stroke of his back but I got a growl as I gently went to kiss him on the head and he meant it.

Normally I kiss his head and he licks my face.

I'm now dreading tomorrow as I'm thinking he may go in but he may not come out...

I hate this time of night and I've never felt more alone, please everyone pray for my Harvey, please

Kenny, how did Harvey get on at the vets today? Y'know I did have a thought, it may seem cold hearted but maybe you could take some video footage of Harvey when he is displaying some symptoms so you could then show your vet his behaviour?

Kenny, I'm so sorry for you. Thank you for taking the time to keep us so well updated. The growling and not wanting to eat crunchy things are almost certainly a sign of pain and you should always take that seriously. It's not as if he can say 'Sorry, old chap, would you mind not doing that just now? Ta.' It's the only way he can communicate his discomfort to you. I think you did right by not trying to move him.

I'm also very glad to hear that the new vet is taking your case seriously. Frankly, I was angry when you mentioned the other vet hadn't done bloods. That is so basic. I am so glad you switched for both of your sakes. Here's hoping that they will be able to sort Harvey out.

You won't be abandoning him, far from it. You'll be leaving him in the care of dedicated professionals who will care for him (Berkeley has been in and out of our vet school hospital for the last couple of years now, and there he has his own armada of student slaves, as his cardiologist put it). If you can bring something along that smells familiar-- a t-shirt you've worn, or a blanket from his bed-- that'll make him feel better as he'll have the smell of home and you nearby.

I sincerely hope you get some results. I will be thinking of you.
